Her route into franchising was a winding one. Tana's corporate career spans defense intelligence contracting, information systems, executive recruiting, and construction equipment rental. It was in that last industry, while working as a business analyst for NationsRent (now Sunbelt Rentals), that she was first introduced to franchising — a happy accident that turned into a career — and became an active member of the International Franchise Association.
From there she moved into franchise development, working directly with franchisee candidates: discussing their goals for business ownership, educating them on the concept and industry, providing market research, assisting in determining territory, and ultimately helping them reach their dreams of owning a franchise. She played an instrumental role in helping multiple companies grow into large national brands.
Then she became an owner herself. Tana satisfied her own entrepreneurial aspirations by owning a commercial construction business, building an independent franchise consulting practice, and becoming a part owner of FranChoice, the premier franchise referral network. Having lived and worked all over the country — placing hundreds of people into all kinds of businesses from coast to coast — Tana is a wonderful resource for prospective franchisees evaluating the opportunities that will help them Realize Their Dreams.
Tana, a Virginia Tech graduate, and her husband, a Notre Dame graduate (a fun Hokie/Irish household during football season!), reside in beautiful southern California, where they enjoy an active and healthy lifestyle of travel, aviation, hiking, backpack camping, and fitness.
